seasonal hair loss -- help

Posted by Cass on February 26, 2007, at 19:16:30

Hi everyone,

For the last four years I've had a problem. Around July, my hair starts shedding drastically. It clogs drains, falls all over my clothing during the day, drops in my food... It's annoying. It lasts through the three Summer months. The big problem is that my hair is getting thinner and thinner. I do have new hair growth, but it's not growing in fast enough to compensate for what I've lost. Also, since I have new hair growth of various lengths, it frizzes up and looks bad. Not only that, during the three Summer months, my hair becomes as dry as straw.
I know some people have natural shedding that occurs at certain times of the year, but mine is so excessive. Like I said, my hair keeps getting thinner and thinner every year.
Does anyone know how I might treat this problem?
