B3 (niacinamide) ok if withdrawing from benzo?

Posted by clipper40 on January 17, 2008, at 7:07:42

My friend is in the process of withdrawing from lorazepam. I want to suggest B3 to him to calm him down now (he has to wait another two weeks before his doctor will even consider prescribing another medication for him). In the meantime, he's crippled with anxiety. I want to suggest niacinamide to him but I'm a bit afraid to because I know that it hits the H1 and/or H2 receptors but I think it might also hit some of the same GABA neuroreceptors as the benzo he's withdrawing from. Don't know if that would necessarily be a problem though. What do you think?
