Phillipa, I'm glad if you didn't miss the point I was trying to make. I realized that the subject line I posted was probably not the most tactful thing I could have said, and I'm sorry about that -- blame a combination of iffy communication skills and limited space for subject lines.
I hope you weren't offended by it -- that wasn't my intent.
