I know there are GABA receptors in the "pleasure centers" in the limbic system that control the release of dopamine, but I don't know exactly how that relates to benzos or tics in any practical sense.

I think one of the mechanisms by which opiates produce pleasure is by attaching to mu opioid receptors which inhibit these particular GABA receptors that inhibit the release of dopamine.
