Lithium and Tryptizol

Posted by fattoush on January 7, 2010, at 12:11:41

I upped my lithium intake from 450 mgs to 600 mgs about a month ago. I had been on 450 for some 6 months and satisfied but still needing help mood-wise. I am bipolar II and I suffer from both migraine and tension headaches. The neuro suggested Tryptizol at 50 mgs, and the Pdoc approved, though I'm bi-polar II. The mistake I made is do those changes, raise Lithium, start tryptizol, on the same day. I have since noticed increased appetite, very difficult to control. I gained 7 pounds in this one month. I also get tired and short of breath if I have to walk a lot. Who is the likely culprit for these side effects? By the way, I feel much better.
