Short-lived 5HT2B-antagonism + SRI: dangerous?

Posted by Brainbeard on June 30, 2010, at 2:44:58

Hi,

Does anyone have any idea wether combining an SSRI with a 5HT2B-antagonist with a short half-life could be dangerous because of rebound activation of 5HT2B-receptors? I''m thinking of heart valve trouble as common with 5HT2B-agonists. Drugs in question are lisuride and sertraline.

Current meds: sertraline 200mg; amitriptyline 50mg; melatonin 0.3mg. PRN: diazepam (Valium) 2.5-10mg.
