Omega 3 Receptor -- GPR120

Posted by MaybeSo on September 3, 2010, at 22:52:05

There's an article in the 9/3 issue of Cell that talks about GPR120 as an Omega 3 receptor. The study examines inflammation and insulin effects.

"GPR120 is a functional u-3 FA receptor/sensor and mediates potent insulin sensitizing and antidiabetic effects in vivo by repressing
macrophage-induced tissue inflammation."

A lot of us suffer weight gain from our meds, and a lot of us are also helped by Omega 3s.

So, just for info, and here's hoping science keeps marching on and connecting the dots.

It's a free article.
