I stumbled across this forum on one of my late night trips on the web. I already participate in a similar thing on a French site (I live in France but I'm English)so I thought I'd like to join in here too, share a few experiences with my American cousins and my froggy friends!
Without going into all the boring details, here's a little about me. For many years I suffered in silence the ups and downs of mild depression and a little too good periods. I first sought psychiatric help about 7 or 8 years ago which lasted a couple of years. After seeing the current psy for 4 years he has diagnosed me as suffering from bipolair disorder, confirmed as cyclothemia by a specialist.I've been on Depamide for a few months which is now being replaced by Lamictal, a relativly new treatment over here, only hospital practioners can prescribe it for bp disorder.
There's also the familly history, I have an elder sister who is BPI. Relations between us have been difficult for many years, but improving. I've been on the look out for a forum similar to my French one (because it really gives me so much help! ) , I hope to be able to tell her about this one soon!
