Hey everybody.
I came upon this board while looking for some new information about celexea. My Psychiatrist recently brought me back up to 80mg daily when we both agreed that taking me back down to 70 mgs wasn't working. He isn't comfortable with that much celexa, but can't deny the benefits.
I am worried with possible long term side effects, especially at high dosages. I have been on it since 2002.
I also take take 1200 mg of Neurotin and 300mg of Topomax daily. A bit more history: I have ended up in the emergency ward twice because of suicide. I have also spent 4 weeks on the short term psych-ward.
It's not all that grim though. As well as seeing a Psychiatrist, I see a psychologist and we have made some great breakthroughs lately. It's taken 3 years and some horrible life events, but I'm getting better, I think.
What we (the Docs and I) are hoping is that with the latest break throughs in therapy that I will be able to heal some wounds so that eventually I will be able to manage my moods without so many drugs. Well, that's supposed to be the point of combined psychoanalysis/drug therapy, right ? :)
People seem friendly and helpful round here, so I signed up! I'll try to do more posting than lurking though. See you round the boards! :)
