Just in case you are still keepimg an eye on your message replies.
I get something similar, altho its just depression rather than swinging up. I dont usually have a link with stress. Sounds like you do? If so, it might be worth looking at if there are manageable ways you can reduce the stress (I know that is easier said than done).
And its the same if you can identify anything else that makes a difference, and that you can control a bit..
Its a horrible thing to deal with. Of course, its wonderful having good times, but I am never relaxed with that as I may be depressed again at any (completely) unpredictable times. So disappointing, and it also makes planning ahead uncertain. I havent been on holiday for years- I couldnt cope with going on my own, but if I went with a friend and got depressed, I would be burdensome.
If you can, its worth not panicking about it. But if only it was that easy.
Sympathies, and lots of luck with coping. You're not alone.

> i was just recently diagnosed with cyclothymia after having been diagnosed with bipolar 7 years ago. finally have a much more accurate description of these crazy (pardon the terminology) mood shifts that i experience especially when under alot of stress! have been taking Topamax for the past year as a mood stabilizer, so far is the best medication yet that I've tried (no more depression!!) But still no solution to this emotional rollercoaster ride. HELP!!!
