Hi,
I am an effexorolic. I too am quitting cold turkey. Let me share my experience with you. I was on effexor for only 6 months. I don't necessarily have the severity of side effects that some of you do. If you haven't been on long, you will most likely experience the following. Dizziness. Although not a normal dizzy. Not unpleasant, but not great either. Auditory halucinations. Mine were "whooshing" sounds that came in rapid rythmic succession. (My poor husband) "Hitting a wall". Chemically I sometimes hit a wall and want everyone to leave me alone. Lasts about 6 hours. Since I knew and expected severe side effects, I got through all of these without freaking out. I upped my workouts by getting some high-energy music on my ipod. (Think spin class at a gym...they could give you good music suggestions) I'm 46 and don't mind listening to what would make a 20 year old exercise well as long as there aren't any filthy words or suggestions. The music is so motivating. Anyway, I guess I am trying to say that you WILL get through this. Expect the worst and enjoy the fact that it isn't the worst. The worst would be that you aren't even here on this earth to write the next post. I would like to note that doctor bob has provided an area for spellcheck on this site. Nice move bob! Especially since forgetful-typing seems to be a side effect too! I didn't use it though....hope all was well!
Good luck to you all
