I tried abilify for about a minute one time-- not a pleasant experience.
I had a lot of muscle tension, esp. head, shoulder, and neck-- almost or maybe actually like akithesia. My pdoc said abilify wasn't something I should take. That might just be me, because I have a very low threshold for reactions to too much serotonin-- and generally rather odd and fairly extreme reactions to most psych meds. So he may have had something specific in mind about my other reactions.
Try to keep in touch with your pdoc, though-- it's important for him to monitor how things are going.
Have you had experience with other meds? People have different reactions, so if you know what your reactions tend to be, it's easier to gauge what any particular effect means.
Maybe if you ask over at the Psychobabble main board, people who've had more experience with abilify than I have can answer your questions.
or to discuss issues with therapy, the Psychology board-- or well-- there are others, esp. Social and Self-Esteem have a lot of responders.
Sounds like you're going through a hard time. This place is really good for feedback, and for understanding a lot of things that you usually don't imagine that other people will.
I hope you do find something here that helps.
