MAIO's and Social phobia

Posted by zcus on May 7, 2007, at 13:00:02

I have been on just about every SSRi anti depressent on the market and they usually don't work for my "problems". The only drug that seemed to work for me is Wellbutrin at 150mg 2 a day.
This and amytriptline both worked for my depression and my insomina for about 3 years really well - but eventually stoped working or my brain chemistry changed or something? - sence then I went through a series of SSRI's again with little or no benefit - the choice was made to put me on MAIO's (Nardil) and they seemed to be a "miracle drug" for the first 3 to 4 months but very quickly became useless after that and left me with horrible side affects and such a lack of motovation - could not even get out of bed...

So I hear that Parnate is similar - but not as effective for Social Phobia as Nardil - but is more uplifting and not as bad with side effects.

Anybody have experience with these 2 drugs - wich do you prefer? I read all that stuff about the change in the MAIO's coating and making it not as effective as before and alot of complaints to Phizer or whoever is making the dam drug these days???

Im kinda going off track here so here are my problems listed in the most severe first:

1 - Social Phobia
2 - Insomnia
3 - OCD
4 - general depression and motavation

I cant' seem to find a pill that will help me - I'm at my wits end - I have been off Nardil Cold turkey for about 5 weeks and it was hell!!! So im a bit apprehensive to try Parnate and it not working and going through withdral again?

Any advice or recommendations???

Thanks in advance
