topomax withdrawl

hello. Dr has me on a sudden withdrawl of topamax(bi-polar) We are in general switching from a mix of lithium-topamax to limictral. The topamax is harsh. Was a brutal start. Now, several years later, it's time to stop. I wanted to go very, very slowly. He has me from 150mg to 100 for 4 days, 50mg for 2 days, and no more. Anyone with any experience along these lines out there???
