bipolar, or normal?

Posted by ideation on June 27, 2008, at 17:12:41

I have recently been told that I was bipolar. I saw a psychologist that told me that I fit into the bipolar spectrum disorder. He referred me to an ARNP who diagnosised me as bipolar with rapid cycling. I don't believe either of them, and I feel like it's some sort of ploy to make more money. They both want me to be on medications. I really want another opinion but I don't have insurance and I don't know where to go. I do have really bad anxiety that is on and off. I have really bad depression but I haven't felt really euphoric in over three years. As for audio halluciations, I haven't had those in 8 years. I feel like I've gotten better, not worse. It does seem that everytime I think I'm better I have some sort of anxiety or depression episode. I feel frustrated. I want to leave the state, the country. Do something different because I feel so bored, but then I don't want to do anything at all. I have no motivation. Do other people who are bipolar feel this way? I'm just trying to understand the diagnosis, and see if applies to me and figure out where I should go from here.
