"...I was introduced to Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) by my pdoc a few weeks ago, but was extremely resistant to trying it, due to the disasterous experience with Effexor XR...

...the drug feels remarkably "clean" and devoid of some of the horrific side effects I had with Effexor XR...

...when I see my pdoc, I am going to ask about stopping the BuSpar and adding Remeron, since I've heard good things about mixing Remeron with SNRIs. My big concern with the Remeron is the horror stories about weight gain, which would be a deal breaker for me."

MY CONCERN about this scenario is that the combination of Pristiq & Remeron can and WILL EASILY cause "SEROTONIN SYNDROME"! I once experienced this delight JUST from adding St. John's Wort to 30mg Remeron!!! MY RESULT: Vivid viaual hallucinations, restlessness, confusion, heart palpitations, dilated pupils, loss of coordination, twitching, sweating, diarrhea, headache, shivering... ETC.

IT WAS NOT PLEASANT!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! >:-(~

On the OTHER hand, I DO take (with my Psych's FULL approval) 400mg Wellbutrin + 30mg Lexapro daily, with NO PROBLEM!!!

Could that BE due to THE FACT that the minimum daily recomended DOSE of the ST JOHN'S WORT WAS 1200mg??? HMMMMMM? Let me think... LOL.
