Hello hok,
I've had a light box for about ten years, and I couldn't live without it. I use it throughout the year, even in the spring and summer on overcast days, although I'll use it for only a few minutes a day then. At this time of year, I use it for at least 30 minutes in the morning. Of course, there's no substitute for real spring and real summer, but I find the light box very helpful. Mine is from the Apollo Company, but I don't recommend them as your first choice because they've had consistent problems with the switches. I've heard that the Sunbox Company is good. They advertise in several psychiatric journals and newspapers. By the way, my cats like the light boxes, too!
