Last week I had a feeling of missing many heartbeats, went to the ER, but nothing was wrong by the time I got an EKG. It happened again a few days later, but this time I was still having PACs or PVCs, I can't remember whichm when I was in the ER. Anyway, there were a LOT of them. The first time I started to panic a little, and wondered if I was having a panic attack. The second time I had no other symptoms of a panic attack.
My questions are these. Can antidepressants cause these? I should mention that I have been taking moclobemide, which had lowered my resting pulse rate from the 60s to the 50s, and maybe lower at times. After the first PVC/PAC attack, I stopped moclobemide, and washed out for 2 days since I thought it might be moclobemide related and because I was getting a little scared about the low resting pulse. After 2 days, I took one 37.5 mg dose of effexor, which I had been on previously. The next day I got the worse attack. So if it is related to antidepressants, it seems to be related to both of them.
The second question I have is can PVCs or PACs actually be a one-symptom panic attack? I ask because I used to get panic attacks, but haven't in over 10 years.
