Uh oh, alarm going off for me. Am I reading this correctly? He actuall said to you, after you said it would never happen, "well, you don't know the state of my marriage."

Huh? Did he say in rebuttal to what you said, as if to say, don't be so sure it wouldn't happen, you don't know the state of my marriage.

I mean, is this getting into "my wife doesn't understand me" territory?

I am sure that male therps are not supposed to discuss the state of their marriage with female patients. If he is implying that he is in an unhappy marriage, I don't think that's appropriate at all. Inappropriate self-disclosure.

Have you read "In Session" There are a few case studies in there that would be really helpful for you I think.

Karen, I hope I misunderstood what you read, I am getting worried about this.
