I know that seeing my new therapist twice a week has been a good thing - mainly because it would be hard to wait a week to address things that he brings up. I think the beginning is harder because you don't have the experience with him to trust him yet. I would recommend twice a week with the new one. Maybe you should skip a week in between the old one's last two sessions. Then if you have particular questions based on stuff your new one is saying you can ask them. Or if you are having trouble letting go of the old one, the new one can help.
Good luck. It is hard to change therapists, but I have found that it has been helpful to me. I hope that it works out well for you, too.
