health insurance?

Posted by alexandra_k on January 24, 2004, at 1:53:59

Hello. I am considering moving to the US in a year or so to do grad. study. I have been diagnosed with BPD etc etc and have a history of past attempts, hospitilisations, and general high level usage of mental health resources... I am doing a lot better and I think that I am progressing well with my T - but I don't think I am going to be 'cured', or not requiring therapy by the end of the year.

My question is about my prospects for obtaining health insurance that would pay for me to get therapy on an outpatient basis. Would I be considered to have a pre-existing condition and so not be covered for this?

I would especially appreciate it if people could pass on something that I could follow up (especially online). I figure that if I can't get insurance to cover this then I need to forget the whole idea...
