My therapist does coaching as well as therapy.

And he's done coaching stuff for me at my request.

The jury's out I think on how helpful it was. I think it gave me some strategies, but I don't seem to be able to implement them. I'm not sure if that's a topic for therapy, coaching, or something else entirely.

There's less regulation in coaching, so I suspect it's a lot more important to check out credentials. And I can tell from some of the professional magazines that it's being touted as a way of getting your full fee and not having to worry about reimbursement from insurance companies. But since it provides a needed service, I'm not sure that's a bad thing.
