Probably because women have a tendency to get attracted and fall in love with father and authority figures - and a T is a perfect example of a father figure, somoone who cares, and moulds a person, and keeps expectations.

I think there is an innate need for women to kind of be able to look up to a man and fall in love with that person. And there is no such need for a man. And having a male as your therapist is a sure way to get that. The pattern kind of matches an innate picturization women have about their partners and no matter how intelligent or capable the woman is, it is hard to fight this basic pattern matching algorithm embedded deep inside.

> One thing that's interesting to me is reading all the "falling for my T"-themed posts here. I wonder how much of that comes from the type of therapy... I also wonder how it correlates with the gender of the patient (I'm male). I mention this here because while I like her and find her attractive and all that I've never felt "in love" or obsessed with her. I'm glad I don't have that "complication" but I wonder what's different for others that this seems so common. (Or maybe it's just that only those who *do* feel that way talk about it and my perception of its prevalence is exaggerated...)
