I know it is.

My therapist keeps on telling me that the unitary, linear self is a fiction. That I don't want that - that's what happens to nuerotics - they get stuck in a rigid definition of self. Then he adds, "Of course you never had the luxury of being nuerotic."

But for 5 minutes I do, just for 5 minutes, let me understand how "normal" people walk around, understanding themselves, perceiving themselves. How do they do it? What does it feel like?
