Anyone doing self help activities?

Posted by zazenduck on May 11, 2006, at 8:40:55

I read about coloring therapy on another mental health forum and decided to give it a try. In theory it is a way to meditate and you concentrate on coloring the mandala and achieve bliss. Well maybe not bliss but at least a state of relaxation. So I downloaded a mandala and went out and bought a set of markers. But it just didn't work for me.

I've been trying a lot of self help things. I think anything is better than doing nothing. I think it's good to humble myself anyway by trying things that don't really appeal to me. I did some exercises from the Work of Katie Byron and they DID help. I'm ready to accept help from an ex-real estate salesperson or a coloring book or anything else. I listen to Bach for at least 30 minutes a day. I really believe my brain is changing.
