How easy/hard is it to find a T who really cares?

Posted by Michael83 on June 1, 2006, at 0:17:02

I would imagine they are like teachers. Some really want to help, others are just trying to pay the bills.

I've never had one, but I want to be prepared to have one should my experiences go back to unbearable levels (I'm atleast stable right now and can survive).

Is it hard to find someone who really wants to help?

I understand that this is their job, and they will not adopt you as family, and it's just a professional relationship, but in order to be a good therapist you absolutely have to atleast truly care about the person you're working with.

BTW, I'm relatively new to the boards, and I assume "T" means therapist.
