I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Please don't beat yourself up for not being able to stop what happened to him as a child. You were a child, too, both of you were up against someone who abused her power over you.
You are under a tremendous amount of stress, I can't imgagine having so many sad things going on at once, please don't blame yourself for what happened to your brother. It was not your fault. Neither of you deserved what happened to you, and you don't deserve to feel guilt that you couldn't stop your mother from hurting him. You were a victim, too.
