Well i guess medical issues can make you feel bad but still to act that way i have know many people that feel bad that don't act that way. My mother had both medical issues, she was very sick medically but was mentally ill first.
Too many people with medical illness more serious than this never do that to their kids. I still think she had some mental illness with it.
My mother was raped at an early age, 7 and it continued until 15 by her grandfather and her family permitted it. Never protected her nor did she ever tell them but still how could they not know. Others in the family suspected grandfather has a thing for youn g children but my grandmother didn't believe it so she didn't shield her children from him. Personally I believe it was denial and she may have suffered from his hand herself. She had strange beliefs about sex herself. So my new belief about people is they have reasons for strange behavior and your mom's was strange and scary.
