I haven't wanted to ask, because I wasn't sure how much you wanted to talk about it.
I went through something similar with my therapist and in the end it turned out ok. But then, and even now sometimes, I wish I had "gotten over" him. Sometimes it seems to me that it must be like having a bad breakup. At first it seems like the world is ending, but eventually the world (darn it) moves along and I perforce move with it.
If being cured of him is what you think is best, I hope you're speedily forgetting him. If you wish to reconnect, my therapist and I are proof that it can be done. Maybe not the way it was before, but in a different nice way.
