YES I am getting a light box and my psychiatrist is getting it for me through my Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO. She got one before a year ago for another patient, same insurance. She has to write a letter, not sure of the exact process, but the insurance did try to get out of it, but she had that precedent of them approving one last year......so when the paperwork is done, BC/BS will tell me where to pick up my light box (somewhere local) and I will have a small co-pay.

It's definitely worth a try if you have a persistent doctor and a good HMO/insurance. I'll post a message when I know more about mine.........my pdoc said it would take around a week to get it after paperwork goes through. It's for Seasonal Affective Disorder.
