I remember noticing and thinking it was odd that my pdoc wasnt wearing her wedding ring while she was examining me. And then I thought, well, guess she wouldnt wear it while shed digging around in peoples "stuff."

I think the wedding ring represents bonding; your PDoc or therapist isn't/wasn't committed somehow to your you or your situation - perhaps he/she doesn't empathisize with you or isn't able to provide insight to an issue - or - doesn't think a certain issue is important - an issue you need to further explore.
