I think I understand what you mean.

What is 'dread'?

Is that something stronger?

Naturally I feel like saying 'Maybe something bad *is* going to happen', which of course it will if you wait long enough.

We were meant to be hunter gatherers where your bad thing would be some wild animal to combat. Now all we have to worry about is each others minds (and that is something to worry about). I assume that the near future will bring something real to give you something to engage with (climate change and half the world will starve to death). Other than that, I'm keen on martial arts (not, I hasten to say that I've done anything like that....I once went to an Aikido course maybe 30 years ago and quickly fled) because you learn how to deal with tangible threats and get fit as well.

Then there are meds of course.
