Getting along in a sh*t-slinging world

Posted by Partlycloudy on December 7, 2013, at 7:11:05

I do pretty well. PTSD, a lifetime of it, has given me a certain set of skills. Most of them have had to do with avoidance. Triggers are unforeseen in so many cases that it can be wearing to be on my guard at all times. Once I know of obvious triggers, I can either deal with them - because they aren't the threat they once were; or I can walk away (avoidance). Which is not a weakness, but a strength.

Sometimes I don't choose wisely, and that is entirely up to me.

I am medicated for my PTSD. I meditate several times a day, and this is very calming. It's been a less than serene atmosphere in my environment, with my home being under renovation since April. Not finish yet. I have taken several breaks to get away from the noise.

So, relatively, I am doing pretty well.
Just an update.
