Definitely. One of the paradoxes of my current depression is that I have almost entirely stopped listening to music and participating.

Actually _making_ music, especially singing, or even Buddhist chanting has a huge therapeutic effect for me. Even if you're not a musician, there may be choirs in your community that sing for pleasure & don't demand musical training.
