Whoa Nellie ... what a great idea sprung from the seed of another. I could do that!
I live walking blocks away from huge university, and in condominium community full of students. My daughter teaches junior high school. I could target both.
Attended the university, so know posting spots.
I did not graduate ... phooey, married instead; but, maybe could show 1-1/2 to 2 year credits, if necessary.
May p/u a secretarial-type, proper punctuation book, and new dictionary. Maybe that's all I need as a refresher for self also; could all come flooding back.
I know a few people at the university who could direct me to the tutorial program; prob' is one. Daughter could post me at junior high school.
Tks so very much ... you deserve to catch a rest! cf
> What about helping to tutor English as a second language? English learners won't be as concerned with affect or effect or punctuation, and as a speaker of English you are qualified. Most places that facilitate such things will provide training and materials. Or you can put a tutor ad in just as a 'conversation partner' for english language learners - some people who are new to the country don't really have anyone to talk to to improve their language skills because they haven't made many friends yet outside their own cultural group/family. To do conversational tutoring you really just have to talk to the person, and you can set your own hours, even work from home. Try advertising at your nearest University, where there are lots of out-of-country students.
