You know that's so true! So true, and yet I'd never given it a thought before. When I was in College, a friend of mine got in touch with me, she'd had some tragic news, (husband diagnosed with terminal cancer) and needed to know if I could meet with her. I called my instructor at school and explained that I would not be in class that day (ECE PUPPET MAKING For F*C* Sake) She told me that "That was NO reason to miss class and that I would be withdrawn if I didn't show up" It was a definite scolding. I felt so ashamed for the entire day.
phylike I'd been punched,humiliated, and yet now that I think about it, she is more likely the one with the problem.
You're absolutely right, scolding hits a specific "tuning fork" for me the sensation is like when I was a kid and being mocked by the other kids at school, though it's not the same thing, my emotional reaction is.
