I did intensive CBT for about 6 months and while I learned some good things, it was not an answer for my agoraphobia or my other mental health issues. My problems always felt "chemical" to me -as if there was something very physiological going on in the functioning of my brain.
I really believe in the neurochemical theory of these disorders. For me, the answer was finding a good med. I will admit, I get a little unsettled by negative talk about meds - I understand it and I respect it but I don't like it. My thought is: I have today and I have wellness today, I attribute that to the med I'm on. I don't know if I have tomorrow or what tomorrow brings if it comes for me. I'm sure enjoying my todays.
I know you struggle as I've been reading your posts for a time now. Please try to keep up hope that you will get to a place of good treatment. We all deserve that.
