Interview today!

Posted by TexasChic on December 1, 2008, at 17:39:26

It went really well. There are some good points and bad points about the job. The bad points are: low pay (for a graphic artist, but still better pay than a retail job) and its kind of long drive out in the boonies. Good points: its a job!!!, the people seemed really nice (its a small family run business), the job itself seems fairly easy, and they need someone to start right away (they said they should make a decision by Wednesday). They seemed to like me and seemed pretty confident I was capable of doing the job (I'm pretty much over qualified). We sat and talked about 30 or more minutes, and I talked to the son who worked there too (he seemed to 'hang around' while they were interviewing me). A girl came in to interview after me, and as I was sitting in my car doing some stuff, I saw her come out again - so they didn't talk to her very long. Oh, they also have two big dogs that stay on the property, which they said tend to sleep under the desk I would sit at (luckily I'm an animal lover, they were really sweet dogs too). They also said I would be working with all men (the three women work in the next building, not too far). So its out in the country with all men and a couple of dogs. Hmmm, might be interesting... or boring, I'm not sure. I actually wouldn't mind a nice boring job after some of the ones I've had lately.

I have one other place that sounds promising, its closer and pays better. I'm supposed to call back in two weeks (they're not hiring until Jan). So we'll see how all this goes. I've been getting pretty discouraged lately, I'll definitely feel better when I get a job. I feel strangely out of touch with the world since I haven't been working. I guess cause I don't do anything else. So wish me luck folks!
