Summer is pretty much winter and vice versa.

Our academic year is different. Start first Monday in March for the 'A' Semester. 12 weeks of classes (two week break in the middle for easter). Couple of weeks study then exams. 'B' Semester (winter semester) starts in July and finishes in October. You would need to work that in to your academic year. Might be easier to come for a year rather than a semester.

Yeah, I went to Australia over last summer. From November 2003 till February 2004. It was great. A lot depends on where you are going though. Bit like the US I guess...
