Hi Gee,
I am not sure if I can offer much hints since I am don't feel I do well in written exams. One thing that I do is record the lectures, so I can listen to them to go over my notes and add stuff that I missed, and then if I have time, I listen to them again before the exam.
Another thing I do is get the study guide to the textbook if there is one. I guess another thing is try to study and learn a little each day, so you don't need to learn everything before the test. Maybe trying to practice out loud explaining whatever term you are trying to learn, because if you can talk about it , you can write about it.
In high school I was working a job at least 40 hours a week, to pay for my own clothes, food, music lessons, etc., so I didn't have time to do my homework. I would get f's on homework, but get A's or B's on my tests, so I would end up with C's mostly. It had been over 18 years since I have been in school so I am a bit rusty, and maybe I have to work a lot harder than before, but I am trying. I really like school.
