I had nitrous oxide once in my twentys for a root canal , it was great. I felt so good and had sexual thoughts about my dentist. Which freaked me out cause I was twenty and he was much older.
Now years later I am 48 and have just had two trips to the dentist and she used nitrous. The first time I did not feel anything, certainly nothing to help me relax. I was more anxious if anything. Yesterday my last visit, it was awful. I felt like I couldn't get any air and it for sure makes me panic. My dentist thinks its some miracle pain killer, so she just took a infected dental implant out of my jaw bone with just a tiny shot as a pain blocker. I never got numb and the pain was so severe I thought I would die. She kept saying breath and as she dug into my jaw bone to get out the infection I went to the ceiling. She thought I should of been numb and that the nitrous was gonna handle the pain. BS I about died. That stuff was awful and I mark that experience as the worst pain in my life. Child birth had nothing on that. As for versaid it made me go up and feel painic and the nurses were astonished of the oppisite effect I had on it. I guess I get the oppisite effect on both things... No more for me...Today I can't breathe as well as before I had it... The dentist didn't taper off or just let me breathe regular oxygen after the procedure she just gased me and then removed it. I found it hard to get normal air for a bit... Good luck ya'll and as for implants it has been a nightmare. Thats a whole other subject...
