Hey there. Glad you are out of hospital and back with us :-) I had a course of ECT a few years back now... I seem to remember... I seem to remember it taking a little while for my memory to get itself sorted out. I still don't have much memory of around 6 months either side of the treatment. But then I was on some fairly heavy duty psych meds as well. In a way... I think that is how it is supposed to work. To help one forget the horrible events / interpretations of events that led up to such severe depression.
But my memory has come right. I remember being really scaired afterwards that it never would and that I'd never be able to go back to university and study. It took a couple years for me to get well enough - but I actually did better after the ECT than I ever did before! And I had bi-lateral too...
I don't have many friends IRL. But Babble has really helped fill that hole for me. It can take a bit of time, but eventually it really is possible to make friends here. You might even be able to meet other people from your area.
It sounds like you have some really good ideas about things you can do to get out, meet some people, and get back into life. Good on you. Really.
:-)
