Hi happyflower,

Prostate health is a common concern for men over 50-55. Very important for them to stay on top of the potential problems, too. Is your T. in this age group? (My dad has been through this, and another friend, too.) Here's some info if you really want to get the basics down:

http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/ency/enlarged_prostate.jsp

Now, don't scare yourself reading it. Remember, it could be something else as sunny suggested, and even if he has an enlarged prostate it doesn't equate to cancer and can be managed.

So strange you posted this...my T. (who is in his mid 50's) ALWAYS uses the bathroom before and after each client. I never thought much of it as we've both laughed about drinking massive amounts of coffee and water all day. I pretty much do the same.

And, my ex-T., poor guy, let slip during our termination session last summer that the reason I'd sensed he wasn't himself was because of some medical issues..."prostate stuff," that were worrying him. He assured me everything was okay, though. I say poor guy 'cause he was a bit young - at 45 last year - to even have to deal with it yet. May run in his family, though.

Of course, being as I love the man dearly, I still worry about it - that he's keeping up with his exams and such. He's a pdoc and freely admits he's the classic stereotype of a doctor who often takes care of his own health last :-( I comfort myself by assuming his wife nags him regularly and appropriately. Hope I'm right.

Maybe you could avoid mentioning the bathroom, and just ask casually about the pillow...maybe ask if he hurt his back and that you're worried about him...? Better than wondering, I say.
