I'm so very happy for you Alex.
When I have the opportunity to choose people to work with I will invariably choose commitment & desire over skill. I've found quite often that skilled individuals act within their roles, while committed team members do what needs to be done for the team, that is, they improvise. So if she is motivated to help you then that is a huge plus. Together you will find the skills and knowledge you need.
I'm really hoping that this is the start of good things for you, I really am. You deserve them.
