Just for my general interest... Does this have anything to do with the 'Sharks' and 'Jets' Model? Does that ring a bell? Maybe Newell & Simon but I'm not sure. Thats what I was thinking when you mentioned networks. Connectionist semantic networks of inhibitory and exitatory connections...
