Perhaps you could discuss your physical limitations (being unable to go quickly from sitting to standing) with your yoga instructor. I found that mine was very willing to accomodate limitations that different students had because of their stages of prg., for instance. Anyway, thanks for your post. It reminded me that yoga can help!

>Most (not all) of the teachers are accomodating, but whatever is wrong with my arms, for example, doesn't get much better with practice. I've gotten extremely self-conscious about my inability to do down dog. (I used to be a little better at it, but I stopped yoga for a few months and lost what ability I had.)
If the studio is open today I'm going to try a drop-in class. (The neighborhood is coated in ice.) I'll take some Klonopin beforehand.
I have a condition called neurally mediated hypotension. If I get overheated or overexert myself I trigger my chronic fatigue symptoms. If it's hot I ask the instructor to turn on the AC because I'm heat-sensitive due to a medical condition The notably unaccomodating teacher responded to my request with a long spiel about how she lived in a house without AC and she had just had a baby and did yoga while pregnant and blah blah. So much for yoga and spiritual values.
