In reply to Effexor Withdrawl -- will it ever stop?!, posted by crazyjen on March 20, 2007, at 16:02:32
Hi, I was on Effexor for more than a year, on about the highest dose I was allowed, I think. I found it did absolutely nothing for my depression (but then, mine is entirely reactionary, not clinical/ chemical), and took myself off it when I read that it could cause tiredness, something that I was really battling every minute of every day. I took myself down VERY slowly, leaving the night meds as they always had been, I started reducing the lunch meds by half, then half again, then off, I then started the same with my breakfast meds, until they, too, were completely off. I tackled the night dosage the same way. Each time I reduced the dose, I would take the new dosage for about a week, so that I got used to it. I got no withdrawal symptoms, but, then, since I was getting no positive benefit, that is probably why.
